Wow, it’s been a very long time since our last post.
First off, hope everyone had a good Christmas 2016, a great start to 2017, happy Valentine’s day, and a blessed Easter.
Okay, now that we have all that out of the way, quick update
We finalized our adoption (which you probably already know). If you are following Dani and I on Facebook, then you’ve seen our pictures and know all of this. So I won’t rehash anymore.
But this week I have had two of the best daddy moments I can think of. First was Monday after work. I came home, Levi was on his playmat in the living room with his back to the door I came in. So I laid my stuff down, grinned at Danielle, and crept up behind Levi. By the time I got to him, I was laying prone on my stomach. I blew into his ear, he still hadn’t heard me coming up behind him.
He slowly looks up, then over his shoulder, sees me, and gets this big smile on his face, puts down his MegaBlock toy, turns around, grabs my shoulders and starts clamping on to give me a hug! So happy I was nearly in tears.
Then today, I go home for lunch, he’s on the floor again playing, I go hug him and hold him for a few. Well, after a few minutes I have to put him down to take care of nature and start my lunch. As I come out of the bathroom and cross the living room (he’s sitting on his playmat again) and go straight into the kitchen, he starts wailing a cry. I get my frozen grilled chicken breast in the microwave, go pick him up (still crying) and as soon as he’s in my arms…silence.
All he wanted was his dada. So we put him in his high chair, give him some munchies, I finish fixing my lunch, and sit at the table with him. he’s happy as a lark, having lunch with dada.
Heart…melted. I’m so in love with my son. It’s the greatest thing that’s happened to me, I think.
Just had to share that moment.
